Type 49

I would like to show you an example of this underprint on a stamp but, as yet, I have been unable to locate one.

This underprint is believed to be for the firm Ryland and Sons who were Cotton Spinners, Manufacturers and Warehousemen operating from:

    New High Street,
    Manchester

and

    56A Wood Street,
    London E. C.

They became a Limited company on 24th September 1873.
