These underprints are from the firm John & Christopher Boyd & Co. They were a firm of Warehousemen trading from: 5, 6 and 7 Friday Street,
1867. Official underprint type 4 (under the gum) in red (1d.) or blue (2d.). PP7 1d lake-red (SG 43 or G1) Multiples of even the most common underprints and overprints are hard to come by. The only PP7 multiples I currently possess are horizontal pairs from plate 167 and 213. Note. Plate 139 has been found unused. PP8 2d blue (SG 45 or G2) PP9 2d blue (SG 46 or G3)
